THE all-new and exciting Vertigo Combat trials bike, as ridden in development prototype form in the 2015 world championship and to the British title by James Dabill not to mention victory in the Scottish Six Days Trial by Dougie Lampkin is now production ready.

And the Barcelona factory recently held a test session in Spain for the world's press which was also attended by many of the appointed importers.

The Vertigo Combat is innovative, using the latest technology to maximum effect with its ignition and fuel injection finely controlled via an ECU.

This allows multiple maps and even individual gears tuned to provide optimum performance.

The Vertigo chassis is lightweight steel tube to a space-frame design while suspension is top quality Tech forks up front and a linkage rear end controlled by a Reiger shock.

The fuel tank is mounted low down, ahead of the shock, for centralised mass and consistent handling whatever the fuel level.

The two-stroke motor is to a tried and trusted spec with S3 barrel, reed valve induction and six-speed gearbox.

The liquid cooling is circulated via an electrically operated pump. This means that the pump only cuts in when it is needed, it doesn't circulate fluid at all times as with a mechanical system. One advantage is that this makes for a very fast warm-up from cold and is very efficient.

Twelve times world trials champ Dougie Lampkin has been totally involved in the development of the Combat as well as acting as Vertigo team manager and, as already mentioned, Doug took time out to win the Scottish Six Days Trial for Vertigo boss Manel Jane!

Ben Hemingway was drafted in as test rider for TMX and the test, with Ben's initial impressions, will be presented in TMX in an upcoming issue.  Don't miss it!
