The 450cc battle in the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship between Yamaha's Justin Barcia and KTM's Ryan Dungey is hotting up...
At the weekend the pair went head-to-head at RedBud for the seventh round of the championship.
In the opening 450 moto it was Justin Barcia who made the first move as he nailed the holeshot before leading for the first half of the moto until Dungey made the pass. Bacia fought back, but Dungey held strong to take the win by just three seconds.
Barcia took another holeshot in race two with Dungey slotting into second, and with the overall up for grabs Barcia hung it out in an effort to stay in front of Dungey, his all-action style lapped up by the huge crowd.
Dungey had Barcia in his sights for the full race and was clearly racing for the win, but this time around Barcia managed to keep hold of the lead.
"Me and my team killed it today,” said Barcia. "I'm so happy. It was amazing. It's going to be a long series, we're fighting back in the points.”
