Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team leader Ryan Villopoto will make a decision about his participation in this weekends MXGP of Europe at Valkenswaard in Holland after tests later this week.
Villopoto was injured when he crashed during the second race of the GP of Trentino last weekend; he has undergone medical examination this week and has been informed by the doctors that he suffered from a coccyx failure.
The 26 years old American will make a decision together with the KRT team staff whether or not to race the fifth round of the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship this weekend.
"The doctors told him that there is no risk of further injury if he rides his bike, but of course it will be painful. We don't want to put any pressure; Ryan will do a test and then we'll take a decision for this weekend,” explained KRT team manager François Lemariey.
Tyla Rattray, also injured last weekend, will definitely be riding at the Dutch track. "Tyla also had examinations and he is OK; he crashed pretty hard on his head but he has no pain. He does have a painful shoulder, and he had some laser treatment this week to speed up the healing process. He will ride his bike today to prepare the GP,” added the KRT manager.
