VMXdN Foxhill: Final rev-up!

It’s finally time for the VMXdN Foxhill which is happening this weekend (August 24-28) at Foxhill Moto Parc near Swindon (SN4 0DR). Quite possibly the greatest gathering of eighties, nineties and noughties motocross bikes and racers on this planet, there’s seriously only one place to be if you’re after a high-octane retro fix this bank holiday weekend.

The event is famous for its international team event and this year’s ought to be more epic than ever as a really strong British team gets ready to roll over the defending champs – Team USA.

The Stars n’ Bars team is headed by VMXdN fan favourite Mike Brown who’ll be joined by Zach Osborne and Tyler Bowers. No Ryan Villopoto on the team this year although we’re promised that he’ll still be at Foxhill to pose for selfies and sign your swag.

Brad Anderson decimated the competition last year and returns for Team GB riding alongside Tommy Searle and Mel Pocock. Perhaps the strongest team on paper, with the support of the home crowd it’s hard to imagine them doing anything other than dominating.

Team Northern Ireland is another very strong team and with Gordon Crockard, Graeme Irwin and Neville Bradshaw all lining up to do battle you’d have to say that they’re well in with a shot of a podium.

The Scottish trio are another strong and entirely proud team with MacKenzie cousins Bryan and Billy joined by good buddy Gavin Robertson.

The Fairhurst Wessex squad is represented by The Reverend Jake Nicholls and Jamie Skuse along with their Stateside cousin Keith Johnson who perhaps might be missing Wessex ancestry but is fast as fudge around Foxhill on his 500cc Kawasaki.

SC Sporthomes Rest of the World team is represented by Evgeny Bobryshev, Yoshi Atsuta and Kevin Wouts. These wildcards could be at threat when all the scores are tallied up at the end of the weekend.

The mighty Mercians are next – that’s Mercia and not ‘Merica, just so you know – with Elliott Banks-Browne filling the role of team leader. EBB won an MX2 British Championship moto here earlier in the year and is very vocal about enjoying the atmosphere at Foxhill when the valley erupts. If you wanna see EBB at his very best then make some noise! He’ll be ably assisted in the team competition by Luke Burton and Josh Spinks.

And finally, the team with the most world champions – in fact, the only team with any world champions – and the royal seal of approval is the Isle of Man squadron that’s made up of David Knight MBE, Jamie McCanney and their good pal James Lassu who is the odd one out in the sense he hasn’t won any FIM gold medals. His MX credentials are good though and that’ll do for us…

There’s a second team competition at this year’s VMXdN Foxhill and that’s the Wright Engineering National Team Race which features mostly British racers representing various teams/organisations. There are some real talents in this one and the racing ought to be close which is true of all the support classes

As well as the on-track action, there’s also a stack of stuff going down trackside too with a full entertainment programme starting from noon on Friday with the delayed Verde Show n’ Shine.

If you do make it to Foxhill this weekend be sure to pop by the TMX Trade Stand that’s situated in the A Paddock to grab your official event programme, a copy of the November issue of TMX and to get yourself entered into our FREE competition to win Brad Anderson’s signed, soiled and sweaty VMXdN Foxhill-edition FXR racewear.

Foxhill is situated right near Junction 15 of the M4 near Swindon in Wiltshire. The postcode is SN4 0DR. Tickets are available at the gate with weekend passes costing £50 for Adults and £25 for kids aged five to 15. Younger than that and they’re absolutely free. Discounted Family tickets are also available. If you can only make it on one day then it’s £30 for adults and £15 for five to 15-year-olds. Pretty good value for money we’d say.

We’ll see you there!
