The promoters of the VMXdN Foxhill event have announced that with support from the Yamaha Racing Heritage Club, three-time 125cc motocross world champion Alessio ‘Chicco’ Chiodi will race at the 2023 VMXdN Foxhill on the August bank holiday weekend – August 24-28.

Chicco is a bonafide Foxhill – and nineties MX – legend, taking the 125 title three years in a row between 1997 and 1999. He was also a member of the MXdN winning Italian squad in 2002.

Alessio Chiodi is a favourite with fans around the globe

The very cool and laid-back Italian is always a crowd favourite. His brilliant attitude and fierce racing mentality make him an easy guy to root for. Foxhill was always one of his favourite tracks, as the events held there were always a highlight on the race calendar.

And the big news doesn't stop there as not only is Chicco coming to VMXdN Foxhill to race but he will also be accompanied by 1984 125cc world champion and legendary team owner Michele Rinaldi.

Michele was well known as a hard-charging racer but his career as a team principal brought many world championships – firstly with Suzuki, then Yamaha factory teams for many years helping names such as  Bobby Moore, Alessandro Puzar, Andrea Bartolini, Stefan Everts, David Philippaerts and Romain Febvre to world championships.

And there's more…

The Rinaldi team are preparing a factory-equipped 1993 Yamaha YZ250 for Chiodi to race.

The VMXdN Foxhill team are indebted to Crescent Yamaha (who also runs the Pata Yamaha Prometeon WSBK team) for helping to put this together. The company is a massive supporter of the VMXdN and, for 2023, have introduced YRHC to the event as a partner.

The promoters of the event have indicated that more exciting news about this is forthcoming in the coming weeks!

VMXdN Foxhill is a truly international race, with riders from across the globe lining up. They also have the creme de la crème of the British talent all doing battle on two-stroke machines that are at least 21-years-old.
