The final round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in France delivered a night of two stories with KTMs Taddy Blazusiak securing a record breaking sixth consecutive world crown while Jonny Walker (KTM) finally captured his debut overall win.

Third behind Cody Webb (KTM) and Walker in race one, the Polish rider sealed the deal with one race to spare by getting runner-up to Walker in race two before going on to finish third in race three and end his night on the podium in third.

"I feel like I'm on top world right now,” told Blazusiak. "What can I say – it's an awesome feeling to be the world champion for the sixth year in a row. Coming into this race I knew I was in the perfect position to wrap up the title – I had a healthy points lead – but I still felt some pressure to get it done.

"Tonight was all about making sure I won the championship. Overall it's been a fantastic season – a world championship and four GP wins – I can't thank KTM, the team and everyone involved enough for the effort they put in.”

Creating a little bit of history of his own in France, Walker finally played his cards right to capture his very first overall SuperEnduro win.

Coming agonisingly close on numerous occasions only to lose it in the dying moments, Walker proved he's learned from his mistakes and got the job done.

Delivering a near flawless performance, Walker improved on his runner-up result in race one to win the final two races in style and claim the top step of the podium. Helped in part by his final round success, the KTM rider also grabbed third overall in the final championship standings.

"I've been chipping away at getting an overall win and now finally it's happened,” commented a delighted Walker. "In Brazil I was so close but then it all fell apart in the final race. In France I felt good on the track from practice. It was tight and tough but it seemed to work for me and I got on with the job.

"I had a good race one but silly mistakes held me back. Then race two I got to the front and took the win. I knew the overall was on the line leading into the final race and this time around I made sure I didn't do anything stupid. Once I got my nose in front I rode smart and got my first SuperEnduro overall win.”
