MID WALES will once again reverberate to the sound of screaming two-strokes and thumping four-bangers as the PAR Homes/Baches Bargains-backed Welsh open motocross championships returns to its spiritual home at Rhayader on June 16 and July 7.A top notch entry that includes Yoshi Atsuta, Glen Phillips, Lewis Gregory, Gary Davies and more than a few riders named Jones - including Mark - will battle it out in a slick 11-race programme. The racing starts at 6.45pm with races for experts, seniors and juniors and ends at dusk with two dash for the cash grand finals.Virtually the whole circuit can be seen from most vantage points and top TV commentator Kenny Kay will be keeping the large crowd enthralled with his interesting anecdotes and informed race analysis. If good racing and cool commentary aren't enough to draw you to Rhayader, it's also worth noting that there are kids' minibike rides, a bouncy castle, free parking, refreshments and a licensed bar - all for the entry price of 3.50 while accompanied kiddies get in free!
