Wet venues cause Wetherby to cancel

Wetherby Motor Club has been forced to cancel the opening round of the West Yorkshire Group Trials Championship, scheduled to take place at Bayliss Gap Farm, Bewerley, this Sunday (January 8).
It is a condition of running motorcycle events at the venue that in the event of adverse weather the venue cannot be used. Those conditions prevail after several days of heavy rain in the Nidderdale area.
The club did try an approach to another landowner at Fellbeck, who also declined as the pastures on that farm were too soft to risk damage to grazing areas.
The club has not yet made any decision regarding re-scheduling the event.
