THE North East centre ran the Inter Centre Team Trial last weekend and the result turned out to be a pretty hard-fought affair!
Time was when the Inter Centre was a gimme for the Yorkshire centre but not any more!
The fact is that not many centres boast the fire-power of the Yorkies although this year was pretty strong with East Yorks and the host centre packing a real punch.
And in a trial laid-out to give the lesser centre's a good day out in the sections it was super low-scoring and no fewer than six riders managed to complete the course clean!
Rob Waite, Iwan Roberts, Andy Chilton, Luke Walker and Sam Haslam spread those cleans between the centres keeping the honours pretty even.
At the end of the day though all credit to Ian Austermuhle and his East Yorks team mates for keeping their nerve to beat them next door by a single mark, while the host centre riders did themselves proud in a close third place.
