Wilden free!

Throwing up enough problems to test the patience of a saint, round one of the Route 77 British MX Cup blasted off at Wilden Lane, Kidderminster.
Previously known as the GT Cup, the series got off to a shakey start with over 300 riders bursting the paddock.
There were track layout changes, and then an over-lengthy qualification session and on top of that further delays with rider injuries – meaning some groups raced just once on Saturday.
Day two was a long day although it ran more smoothly and everyone ended up with their full quota of four races.
Acknowledging the issues co-promoter Claudio Bernardinelli took it squarely on the chin and in a post-meeting statement assured that amendments to the format would be made for round two, promising a much smoother-running event.
The track is renowned for its toughness and there was no doubt the 50cc Autos found it toughest of all.
Riders and parents alike had their work cut out keeping the wheels moving in the right direction.
McKenzie Marshall put on a sparkling all-round show, though going 2-1-2-1 to grab an early series lead.
Runner-up Riley Keene topped heat three as a solid set of four results gave Carter Brown third overall.
Heat one winner Louis Vincent was unlucky with a no-score in heat three dropping him down the order.
In the 65s the much expected three-way tear-up between Charlie Heyman, Charlie Palmer and Vinnie Guthrie saw Palmer brilliantly steal a march to win heat one. Heyman finished second in that one but he ruled the roost afterwards with three outstanding wins.
