Monster Mountain hosted Round Three of the British Sidecarcross Championship, where Brett Wilkinson/Joe Millard continued their dominance, taking both race wins and collecting additional points for setting the fastest lap in each race. This maintains their flawless scorecard, and the pair now lead the series by a massive 45 points.

Wet weather in the lead-up to the Nora-organised event meant conditions started muddy, to say the least, but as one of the fastest-drying circuits in the UK, conditions improved massively throughout the day.

Fast-starting Tony Grahame and Jak Watson led the opening moto

The opening moto saw Tony Grahame/Jak Watson take the early lead ahead of George Kinge/Liam Hodges and Wilkinson/Millard, who had travelled back from Estonia during the week and kept on motoring into race day. The #1 plate holders moved into an immediate lead and wouldn’t look back, while Kinge/Hodges took over second on lap two and stayed there for the duration.

Behind them, Stuart Brown/Jack Wilkinson moved up to third until a late race issue saw them slip back to sixth before being able to take advantage of a Liam/Harley Mudie DNF to take back fifth on the final lap.

Ahead of them, Grahame/Watson hung onto third with Jack Rogers/Ryan Beavis finally securing fourth at the flag.

Race two saw Kinge/Hodges grab the holeshot ahead of Wilkinson/Millard, with Rogers/Beavis slotting into third. Again, the #1 team moved to the front of the field, but behind them, it was a very different story to race one.

An upwards trajectory saw Brown/Wilkinson slot into second early on as Kinge/Hodges lost a position to birthday boy Ant Milliar with his passenger Jon Hunt. That’s how the top four stayed until the finish, with Grahame/Watson making a last-lap pass on Rogers/Beavis to secure fifth.

Overall, Wilkinson/Millard topped the podium flanked by Kinge/Hodges and Brown/Wilkinson.

Dean Moor is next on the calendar, with the sidecar championship races taking place on Saturday. July 5 on the hilltop circuit situated near Workington in Cumbria.
