Yamaha Motor Europe has officially announced the winners of the 2024 YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup following an exhilarating two-day Masterclass at Motocross des Costières in Beauvoisin, France. The event featured intense training and evaluation under the expert guidance of bLU cRU coaches Gautier Paulin, Brian Jorgensen, and Nancy van de Ven.
After facing fierce competition, 16-year-old British rider Jamie Keith emerged as the winner of the YZ125 Cup. Keith will now progress to the EMX125 championship in 2025, where he will benefit from a fully supported ride with the JK Racing Yamaha team.
In the YZ85 class, 13-year-old Dutch talent Kay Zijlstra stood out from an exceptionally skilled field, earning recognition for his potential. Zijlstra will receive direct Yamaha support for his 2025 season.
The YZ65 Cup saw a rare outcome, with 10-year-old riders Tommy Wood from the UK and Jann Huisman from the Netherlands both being named joint winners. Both riders will receive Yamaha's full support for the 2025 season, with Wood being backed by Yamaha Motor Europe and Huisman by Yamaha Motor Benelux.
The bLU cRU program is open to Yamaha YZ riders aged 8 to 16 and is free to join. Riders can sign up for the 2024 YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup here.
In 2024, Yamaha’s bLU cRU initiative attracted hundreds of talented young riders across Europe, all vying for a spot in the YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale. This year, the SuperFinale took place as part of the prestigious Monster Energy Motocross of Nations at Matterley Basin and, for the first time, included riders from the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Brazil.
From the 113 competitors at the SuperFinale, the top three European riders in each class, along with two wildcard entries and the highest-performing female rider, were invited to the bLU cRU Masterclass in France. There, they showcased their skills and received valuable coaching from Paulin, Van de Ven, and Jørgensen, who had the difficult task of selecting the winners from an increasingly talented group.
Looking ahead, Yamaha is set to expand the bLU cRU program in 2025. The competition will feature 120 riders from Cups and Challenges worldwide, all competing for a chance to qualify for the YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale. The location for this highly anticipated event will be announced soon.
