You gotta Rowl with it!

WOR Events put out a superb little enduro course at their rider friendly venue near Nuneaton last weekend for the fourth and penultimate round of the clubs Winter Enduro Scrambles series. Overnight heavy rain and winds did nothing to dampen the spirits of the riders or organisers as by 10am the Winter sun was shining.
First race of the day was certainly the most technical for the riders as the ground was so slippy under foot, and the mainly wooded sections of the venue were in parts like ice.
Winning the Veteran class and the morning race overall was Mick Belcher. Mick took the lead on lap four and never got overtaken, putting in very consistent and fast lap times.
Duncan Humphries battled hard to take the runner-up place in the Veterans and concrete his place at the front of the Veteran championship standings.
The bronze medal in Vets went to John Jones with a very determined ride that saw him dice with David Wilcox for the final award place. All three did 13 laps in the two-hour event.
In the Sportsman 4T group it was good friends and riding buddies, Lee Essex and Emyrs Price that took the top two podium places with Essex having the edge over Price. Ian Jones was third with a great comeback ride after a lay off from racing. Again the top three did 13 laps.
Sportsman 2T victory spoils went to that man Rob White again. Growing in style and confidence every race, Rob took a big four minute advantage over runner-up Sean Berry.
Berry doing some inventive maintenance to get the bike ready for the start line as he had forgot his air filter cage and side panel! Paul Ellis Smith finished in third place and secured his first ever trophy, fully deserved for this likeable midlands based rider who always has a smile.
In the Ladies class a real battle was on with Emily Davey and the two World level MTB riders Emeline Ragot and Ffion Griffiths.
For the duration of the two-hour race the girls were never far apart and that's how it stayed right up to the end with the
always determined Davey taking the gold, Ragot the silver and Griffiths the Bronze.
Very close times and 12 laps a piece was their result.
The Youth class had young Jon Hunt out on a 125 2T for the first time. Hunt was on a borrowed SS Racing Husqvarna and loved it. After a steady start Jon eventually won the class and took a well deserved eighth overall. Richard Newbrook took a well deserved runner-up spot and Harry Nichols took the Bronze with a fine ride in the slippery conditions.
After a short break the afternoon race for the Experts and Clubman was underway. Conditions had dried out quite considerably and grip was now available in bundles.
SS Racing's Rowland Morris led the race from start to finish with a fantastic ride on his little 250 4T.
