Youth Club: Mini Monsters’ Brummie blitz

Racers can get motivation from the strangest of places just ask Joe Clayton.

Mistakenly called a Brummie in last week's TMX the Devonshire born n' bred shredder went on a winning streak through all four Pro Lites motos in Birmingham (not using home advantage, apparently) to move a massive 35 points clear in the championship chase.

His closest challenger in the series – George Clarke – was lucky to run 2-2-2-3 over the weekend after crashing hard in Saturday's second race.

Obviously wondering what would happen if he scrubbed the finish line double really hard, Curious George as we're gonna call him from here on out, took a huge digger after the chequers but was able to bounce back to his feet and pump up the crowd – like they needed it!

Detuned or not, Clarke managed a second and a third on Sunday and sits 17 points clear of third placed Jordan Moxey with just four rounds remaining.

Harry Kimber took another step closer to taking the Supermini title after a fairly dominant weekend in Birmingham.

Saturday saw the pint-sized speedster take full points with a win in the points-paying qualifier, plus another victory in the shortened Main Event. But after finishing third ahead of winning the Main Event, Kimber was actually outscored by Team Green's Lewis Hall on Sunday.

They were joined on the podium by Preston Williams who took a well-deserved third in the Main Event.

Meanwhile Kiean Boughen went on a winning streak in Birmingham, taking top points all weekend long to snatch the series lead off Ollie Colmer who crashed hard in Sunday's Main Event and finish a lap down in 11th spot.

With just a six-point gap separating the pair everything's to play for in Newcastle this weekend.
