Baggett claims his first-ever 450 SX class win

Heading into round two of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series in State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona, Blake Baggett had seven career 450 podiums to his name all for third-place finishes.
On Saturday night the 26-year-old Rocky Mountain KTM rider turned the form book upside down when, with just 1:20 on the clock, he took the lead from defending champion Jason Anderson to claim his first-ever 450 class win.
Luck was definitely on his side. He was holding down fourth place, over three-and-a-half seconds behind leader Ken Roczen, when the race was red-flagged and from the staggered restart was just two bike lengths behind. Still, it was a great ride from the Californian who afterwards admitted he was struggling to find grip as he lined up Anderson for a pass.
I was being patient and trying to find a spot, he said. I didnt want to get into a slugging fest out there. I was trying basically to wait for a mistake really because there was nowhere to pass the place is like concrete and youre fighting for traction.
As soon as you be a little bit aggressive you push the front wheel or slide or spin so I honestly thought Jason was going to get away from me because I couldnt get the thing to bite.It might have looked like I was laying up but I was really just trying to find traction and just find a spot where it was going to be feasible.
