Smartop MotoConcepts Racing has completed its rider line-up for the 2021 season with the addition of Broc Tickle.
Tickle will replace Justin Hill on the squad who reportedly didn't agree on terms with MCR and join team veteran Vince Friese and new additions Shane McElrath and Missouri native Benny Bloss.
McElrath brings veteran experience and an impressive resume as he transitions from the 250 class to the 450 class for the 2021 season. The runner-up in the 2020 250SX West championship title and third place overall finisher in the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series, McElrath is proven to be a consistent top-contender, capable of getting the job done.
MCRs Team Manager, Tony Alessi was impressed with veteran 450 rider Bloss' display of speed and whoop strength in the final rounds of the 2020 season. "We feel the MCR program will allow him improved starts and the speed he possesses will keep him up front," said Alessi.
This is the first deal Tickle has sealed since fill-in rides with JGRMX and Monster Energy Yamaha.
On joining the team Tickle said: "Excited for this opportunity with Moto Concepts. I am looking forward to the off-season prep and working with a solid crew. Time to get to work."
Tickle brings a lot of experience to the team, he's a solid test rider, can put in lap times on par with the rest of the squad and is very knowledgable in the fitness area. Alessi expects the Michigan native to bring a lot of experience to the team
Friese is another returning rider and the team will use his experience and knowledge as an integral part of developing the 2021 Honda CRF450R to the level of MCRs 2020 Honda CRF450R bikes.
