AMA Supercross Indianapolis Jett Lawrence
Jett Lawrence has given an injury update after getting himself pretty banged up on Tuesday night with two brutal crashes at the Indy 2 round.
During timed qualifying practice, Lawrence went through the whoops like he was on a bucking bronco. His works CRF250 violently kicked him off leaving him with a bloody nose.
And then the Team Honda HRC rider caught a Tuff Block during his heat race. As well as visibly dealing with a painful injury, he also had to contend with going to the Last Chance Qualifier in an attempt to make the 250SX East Main Event.
Jett found a way to push through the pain barrier in the LCQ, winning the race, only to pull out of the Main when he was on the start gate.
In a press release from the team, Jett explained that he didn't hurt himself much in the first crash, just getting a bloody nose. But the second crash did more damage. "I hit a Tuff Block that was in a bad spot, and it was put back in the same spot for the heat race," explained Lawrence.
"I hit it straight on and fell straight on my head and shoulder. I was looked at by my therapist and there might be a little bit of separation, but we're just going to play it by ear."
As the press release dropped, Lawrence posted to his fans on Instagram. "Obviously last night didnt go so well," wrote the 17-year-old Australian. "I tried to ride Main but I had to make a call that killed me on the inside but I just wasnt 100 per cent and I just couldnt risk further injury.
"Its going to be a long journey and there is no need to make any low percentage plays when it comes to my body and health.
"We are doing everything possible to make sure I am good to go for Saturday. Ill keep you guys updated."
We'll post further Lawrence injury updates on here as they become available.
