What is the new AMA Supercross schedule for 2023?

Here we look at the 2023 AMA Supercross schedule, detailing some of the key rounds, including one new stadium and the return of some cities missing from last year.

Feld Entertainment has revealed the 2023 Supercross dates during a presentation at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The joint press conference in LA from Feld and Pro Motocross set out the 2023 AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross seasons, plus offered dates on the new SuperMotocross World Championship.

Anaheim and Salt Lake City bookend SX Season

There's no shock that the opening round of the 2023 Supercross season is at Anaheim or that the series has its finale at Rice-Eccles Stadium (a bit later than usual due to adding two off weeks into the schedule). But the SX series will certainly not be dull, with the addition of a brand-new stadium in San Diego and the return of two stadiums that have been off the SX schedule for a few years. Not to mention Triple Crowns, East/West Showdowns, and the all-new SuperMotocross playoff-style end-of-season events.

AMA Supercross returns to Florida's Gulf Coast this year, as Tampa finds its way back to the Supercross calendar, with Raymond James Stadium hosting on February 11. Also making a welcome return is Nashville, Tennessee. It's the first time since 2019 that the Nissan Stadium has hosted a round of Supercross, and with it being late in the 17-round championship, it has a slight chance of celebrating the crowning of the 2023 champion on April 29.

The March 4 round at Daytona Int. Speedway will be electric when has it not been? And we'll be treated to another speedway venue with Atlanta on April 15.

East/West Showdowns

The Supercross 2023 schedule above gives you a complete list of the venues and dates for your dirt diary. As well as the 17-round 450SX championship, two regional crowns are up for grabs. The 250SX West championship takes in nine rounds, including two East/West Showdowns. Meanwhile, the 250SX East championship is a 10-round series, including two East/West Showdowns.

There will be an East/West Showdown at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on April 22. Finally, the season finale on May 13 in Salt Lake City will host the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Showdown.

Triple Crown

Undoubtedly, the Triple Crown format is a fan favourite and will make three appearances in 2023. The first is at Anaheim 2 (Angel Stadium), followed by Arlington (AT&T Stadium) and Glendale (State Farm Stadium).

How can I watch AMA Supercross in 2023?

As part of a multi-year media rights extension between NBC Sports and Feld Motor Sports, Peacock will become the home of the Supercross and Pro Motocross series, including the newly-formed SuperMotocross World Championship. For fans, that brings stability and certainty as Peacock is locked in for five years.

Spanning 31 races from January 2023 to October 2023, Peacock will present live coverage of all races, qualifying, and heats across both series. The 31 total races will mark a record for the combined number of Supercross and Pro Motocross events that NBC Sports will present in a single season.

Peacock will exclusively stream at least 20 Supercross and Pro Motocross races live. Furthermore, Peacock will serve as the exclusive streaming home of qualifying, heats and full-event replays.

Unlike last year, in the USA, NBC, USA Network and CNBC will provide coverage of all races. That will include the SuperMotocross World Championship playoffs and Final throughout 2023 and beyond. The inaugural SuperMotocross World Championship Final will be presented on Saturday, October 14, 2023, live on Peacock and USA Network.

Complete 2023 coverage schedules for Supercross, Pro Motocross and the SuperMotocross World Championship on Peacock, NBC, USA Network and CNBC will be announced in the near future.

While the press release from NBC Sports didn't touch on international viewers, the press conference highlighted that fans from around the world will be able to live-stream AMA Supercross in 2023.
