Tomac hits the wall

The track in the Georgia Dome for round eight of the Monster Energy Supercross series didnt go down well with the riders with the wall jump followed by the sand section in particular coming under fire.
"That was just ridiculous," said second-placed Eli Tomac. "I think with the timed events now there's really no reason [for wall jumps], I mean why are we getting slowed down? I think just about every rider would say they don't like them at all.
"The sand's cool but with the wall there - I don't want to sound like a whiner but it was kinda dumb.
"It was a tough track - we were down to the concrete again and the whoops were one of the most technical sets we've had all year. When we walked the track they didn't look huge but the way the clay was and the way the spacing was they ended up being really tough."
Reigning champion Ryan Dungey described the wall jump into the sand section as "nasty".
"The track was gone - it was pretty nasty and rough," he said. "The tracks are breaking down a lot and I feel like we need more time to do a little more fixing. It's nasty, it really is but that's racing.
"Sometimes I'm searching for a smooth line and there's not one. I kinda learned a little last week being behind Eli - it's like whatever line he's in he just mashes it. Quit looking for a smooth line because there's not one."
