AMA Supercross Dean Wilson Houston
Super Scot Dean Wilson opted to sit out the second round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series after injuring his shoulder at the opening round.
Talking to Race Day Lives Jim Holley during Fridays press day, Deano explained why he wasnt willing to take any chances to race Houston.
Unfortunately, I didnt even really get to start the first round, said the Glasgow-born Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider. I crashed on the second lap in the first heat race it was a really hard impact on the shoulder. Luckily nothings torn, just really battered and bruised and strained so Ive been doing therapy all week. I sprained my wrist also.
Were going to try and ride press day and see how I feel and hopefully I can just be good enough to race. I couldnt even lift my arm up until yesterday so Im going to try because Id rather try and know that I couldnt than not try and always wonder if I could have so well see how it goes.
The muscles are like if you took a meat hammer and just battered them. Everythings very mushy because I slammed really hard but I got lucky, nothings too beat up but there was no way I could race last weekend. It was disappointing to start the season like that it just sucked because Ive worked really hard this off-season but it is what it is. All I can do is try and get healthy and try to get back into racing and back into top form.
Im not going to race if I cant really jump everything. Id like to race and get points and just keep hammering my therapy during the week and I think Ill be a lot better for Anaheim 2.
