Supercross

The Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club has revealed a three-round British Electric Supercross Championship for the winter months of 2022/2023, with an outdoor series to follow in the Summer.

The three-round British supercross series will take place at the Wheeldon Off-Road Centre in Devon and the SX Worx venue in Sheffield.

In the Summer, events will move outdoors with Motocross, Supercross, Enduro and Flat Track type events planned for the calendar.

Running alongside Steel Hawk's Revvi Cup Electric Balance Bike races, the British Youth Electric Supercross Championship will have two different classes. The Auto-E class, which will cater for riders from 5-8 years old on bikes such as the KTM SX-E5, the Husqvarna EE5 and the GASGAS MC-E 5 with up to 8kw power output and the Mini-E class for riders from 4-7 years of age on bikes with up to 1500kw power output.

Adult and other Youth classes will be confirmed soon.

The series has already received industry backing by O'neal, with some great prizes up for grabs, with others announced soon.

Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club's Paul Oughton said: "As with everything we do, we are really excited about opening up our events further to electric bikes and the many people who are now riding them.

"We have seen how well our electric ride days have gone and also seen the success of the British racers riding over in the Junior-E series in Europe and also in our own Airborne Gunner Supercross and we feel this is the next step in both the sport's progression and ours as a club.

"Taking the events outdoors in the Summer too is something we are really looking forward to, and we are talking to some exciting venues which we hope to be in a position to announce soon."
