Max Anstie has been crowned the 2025 World Supercross SX2 Champion after delivering a dominant and remarkably consistent campaign across the globe-spanning series. The British rider wrapped up the title following the final round in Cape Town, securing his second SX2 world crown after first lifting the trophy in 2023.

Anstie’s title success is made all the more impressive by the circumstances leading into the season. A broken leg sustained in March initially looked manageable without surgery, but further complications later required an operation, casting doubt over his fitness for the start of the championship. Despite those concerns, the Winchester native lined up in Buenos Aires and immediately put any questions to bed.

The Team GSM Powered by Star Racing Yamaha rider opened the series with a flawless performance at the Buenos Aires City GP, claiming Superpole and winning all three SX2 races. He repeated the feat at Round Two in Vancouver, again topping qualifying and sweeping the motos in challenging conditions to establish a commanding points lead.

World Supercross’s demanding five-round, five-continent format tested riders with relentless travel and rapidly changing track conditions, but Anstie remained composed throughout. At the Gold Coast round in Australia, he secured another overall victory with a measured performance, continuing his run of podium-topping results.

Stockholm proved to be the most challenging round of the campaign. With the championship within reach and difficult track conditions catching out several riders, Anstie rode conservatively after an early fall, banking two sprint wins and a third-place finish in the main race to secure crucial points.

Arriving at the finale in Cape Town with the title firmly in sight, Anstie delivered a controlled ride to do exactly what was required and seal the 2025 SX2 World Supercross Championship. The result marks another major milestone in his career and reinforces his status as one of Britain’s leading figures on the global supercross stage.
