SuperEnduro Jonny Walker

Jonny Walker has claimed his best finish of the 2017 SuperEnduro World Championship to date, placing as a strong overall runner-up at round three of the series in Bilbao, Spain.

Switching to a KTM 350 EXC-F ahead of the event, Jonny recorded 1/4/2 results to finish second overall, alongside Alfredo Gomez and Colton Haaker on the night's podium.

The highlight of Walker's night was the opening final, where he claimed victory having earlier topped the one-lap qualifying Superpole.

Battling his way to fourth at the end of the reversed start order second final, Jonny came up just short of the overall event win when he finished as runner-up in the third and closing final.

With three of four rounds of the SuperEnduro World Championship now complete Jonny sits third in the series point standings. Jonny returns to SuperEnduro action in two weeks for the final round of the 2017 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in Albi, France on March 18.

Jonny Walker: "I've really been riding a lot recently, and I felt good throughout the night here in Spain. I switched to the 350, which worked great, but in general I feel like I rode a lot better than at the earlier rounds.

I got good starts, rode pretty consistently and came away with a solid runner-up result. It came down to the final race between Alfredo Gomez and myself for the win, although it's a little frustrating to get second overall I'm pleased.

I landed on someone in the last race of the night, which kind of knocked me off my stride.

After winning the first race I knew what I needed to do and I felt like another win was more than possible. It's been a really good night. I can't wait for the final in France now.”
