A Noble ride from Ross

Well-known Geordie comedian Ross Noble was a surprise entry in the 2017 Scottish Six Days Trial.

At the start of the week Ross said that he had owned a trials bike for quite a while but not ridden many events. He is a keen motorcyclist but his off-road experience is mainly in desert-type rallies – definitely not Scottish moorland.

The week's sunny and dry conditions obviously favoured Ross who, pursued by a film crew, clearly found the sections way out of his league. He asked for fives in many but persevered and completed the course to be credited with 260th place on 819 marks from the 275 starters.

The pic shows Ross having a go in the opening loose, rocky gully in the Ben Nevis group, close to the finish on Saturday. After a hard-fought three and, well pleased with his effort, he managed a smile before commenting "that was all right, wasn't it?”.
