Belle Trailers take Ladies and Girls British Trials Championship to the next level
By Team TMX on 27th Jan 25

After a lot discussion about the future of the Ladies and Girls British Trials Championship, long-term series sponsor Belle Trailers has taken the bull by the horns and fully got behind an all-new AMCA take on this ACU classic.
The refreshed series is run with total commitment to the riders involved and in 2025 each round will be free to compete at, with no additional licence fee required as Belle Trailer’s will fully foot the bill. Belle Trailers will also make a financial donation to each of the organising clubs and all observers and officials will be given a food ticket – again all paid for by Belle Trailers.
While the championship will be run under AMCA rules and insurance, the series organisers are keen to point out that ACU clubs – many of whom have supported the championship for years – can still apply to run a round but they will be relieved of all administration or affiliation to the AMCA as, yes, you’ve guessed it, Belle Trailers will sort that.
Although Belle Trailers is the main financial supporter of the series, most of the on-the-ground legwork is done by Lionel Cox who many trials enthusiasts will remember for his wild riding on a trials sidecar back in the day. Lionel has also wildly ridden ice speedway, grasstrack (solo and sidecar) and long-distance trials plus he’s also currently a keen competitor in the fledgling sport of mountain bike enduro racing. When he’s not racing, Lionel ably runs the series’ Facebook page and is currently snowed under with paperwork and the switch to the AMCA way of doing things ahead of the 2025 championship starting.
It's anticipated that the series will consist of three or four two-day weekends although that’s still open to discussion and will be determined by popular opinion.
So far the refreshed series has attracted support from In Motion, Blagg & Johnston, Seagull Engineering, Splatshop, Jack Sheppard’s SDX Motors, Bronze Mechanical handling, Bell Fencing, Rolfo Service, Radley Plant, WIME Industrial, Roy Allen Engineering, NUVech, AirBar, 007 Ltd, Caistor Car & Commercial, Colin A Renton, LT Solutions, RTF Commercial Ltd, RC Boreham & Co and Trials Magazine’s John Hulme who is the voice of authority on motorcycle trials and will support the championship with photos and coverage.
