Quite literally because Billy blasted away from the start and got involved in a hectic race with fellow GG riders Jonny Rich and Jack Price in what John Shirt described as the kids race as they all had their sights on setting Standard Time.
It had an almost inevitable conclusion as their bikes got plastered in mud and started having problems. Billy was first to steam to a halt while Pricey was cruelly robbed when in sight of the finish when clearly well clear on time. A classic case of more haste, less speed...
