Hemingway makes History

George Hemingway won the 100th running of the legendary Scott Trial with a stunning performance to beat home elder brother Harry and Jack Peace, as four-time winner Jack Price set standard time around the 81-mile course.
Third fastest on time but best on observation, Hemingway dropped just 21 marks across the 76 sections to secure victory by three marks – an impressive result in only his second attempt at the iconic time-and-observation classic.
Joe Hiley claimed First-Timer honours in 37th outright, a memorable result for the power plant engineer who started 50th and spent a good portion of the lap running first on the trail. Alice Minta took the Women’s class, finishing 41st overall.
Of the 183 starters, 95 finished within the time allowance, with another 21 making it to the end but classified Out Of Time.
