Take a look: Andrew Wilson's Montesa
By Team TMX on 20th Apr 16
Andrew Wilson turned out at the opening KIA National Twinshock round at Congleton with something a little different, a Montesa 200 that has been built as a practical bike to ride, not as a showpiece although it is neatly finished.
It is a basically standard version of a model that you don't see too many of these days, although back in the day Nigel Birkett won several National trials on a 200.
Andrew has treated his to a later model swinging arm which is stiffer than the spindly standard version and looks better too.
Performance has been enhanced by use of a 348 model front exhaust (that was a favourite Birkett mod) and all topped-off by a later Montesa tank-seat unit which sets it off nicely.
All in all Andrew's Mont makes a nice, rideable option against the plethora of Fantic and Honda TLR twinshocks which currently dominate the Twinshock scene.
