Take a Look: Ian Perberdy's unusual Ducati trials bike
By TMX Archives on 9th Dec 16
Ian Peberdy has sent us pictures of this unusual Ducati trials bike hes just completed building.
The engine would have originally been in a Ducati Monza 160cc road bike and all Ian had to start with was a standard road bike frame, engine and a pair of hubs.
Ian's main aim was to build a competitive pre '65 trials machine using as much of the original frame as possible, unlike many other pre '65 units which use new frames or a Royal Enfield-type chassis.
After extensive modifications to the main frame from road bike to a trials compatible competitive chassis, the extensively modified Ducati motocross swingarm was mated to a pair of Ducati Grimeca hubs.
The engine went to a Ducati specialist for a complete engine build due to the extensive amount of special tools required along with his knowledge. All the fabrication/building has been done by Ian himself.
A new set of REH forks up front have been added, all set up for weight of bike and rider, with adjustable Ozo alloy rear shocks.
All controls are high quality items, there will be a small seat pad that can be fitted for road trial events and everything has finally been finished off in Monza red.
Ian just needs to get out and get it dirty.
