Trials

THE North Berks clubs always eagerly anticipated Berks Bonanza Supertrial takes place this weekend at Seymours Arena, Aston Tirrold, near Didcot, OX11 9AW.

The entry is topped this year by Gas Gas factory team leader James Dabill, making a rare appearance in Britain this year.

But it is the Ladies and Youths who will get the weekend underway at 10am on Saturday.

World Ladies champ Emma Bristow will be putting all her skills to good use while Jess Bown, Louise Alford, Nikita Smith, Alicia Robinson and co. will look to give Em a run for her money.

Five ambitious girls will also be looking for honours on the B route with Yorkies Olivia Brooksbank and Beth Dunning looking for glory.

Youth A sees Devon's Billy Green favourite for the top spot but he will continue his rivalry with Scotland's Duncan McColl who makes the long trek south from his Inverness base.

Sunday then sees the men take the main stage with James Dabill leading a who's who of British trials which means Jack Price, Dan and Jack Peace, Michael Brown, Iwan Roberts, Toby Martyn - 20 contenders in total, including Youth Billy Green pitching himself in amongst the big boys.

As ever, Stu Robinson has been busy with the heavy plant in Seymour's making ever more challenging and entertaining hazards.

Sunday's format will be eight qualifying sections for all and eight riders make the final.

There will be 10 sections in the final but after five sections the last four riders will be removed leaving four to battle it out for the podium. There's free camping available from Friday afternoon onwards, refreshments and toilets on site and a warm welcome awaiting everyone.

It's just £10 per head for adults entry fee and an absolutely cracking weekend of Supertrial is guaranteed.
