Trials Torque: Chance to live Drayton dream
By John Dickinson on 8th Feb 17
FANCY winning a Drayton frame kit of your choice and the chance to fulfill that dream of building your ultimate classic Britshock classic trials bike?
Well, your chance has arrived as Drayton bossman Jim Pickering has decided to donate one of his frames to charity and the opportunity to give something back to those who helped him during a recent battle with cancer.
The Air Ambulance Service and Cancer Research are his charities of choice.
Kidderminster enthusiast Jim was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus last year and, after going through the mill we are pleased to report that he is now well on the road to a full recovery.
He says he received great support from his trials friends throughout his ordeal.
Jim of course developed the Drayton frame, which usually sports a Bantam engine.
But he has also built alternative versions using BSA C15, Bantam, Villiers and Triumph twin engines which all fit into the specialist frame kit.
He rides most weekends and has competed several times in the Pre-65 Scottish Two Day Trial on his own trusty Drayton Bantam.
The upcoming Hagon Shocks- sponsored Telford Classic Off Road Show has to be his favourite time of the year where he spends two full days showing his masterpieces off to Classic world.
And this year Jim is pleased to announce The Drayton Frame Grand Prize Draw in aid of Cancer Research and the Air Ambulance.
Tickets will be available at the Telford Show next weekend – February 18/19 – from the Drayton stand for just £10 each.
The draw itself is scheduled to take place at 4pm on Sunday, February 19 at the show and the lucky winner announced.
So if you are going to the show do remember to drop by the Drayton stand and bag your ticket – if you aren't in it you won't win it – and help Jim support two great causes.
