Trials Torque: KIA’s on the Hunt
By John Dickinson on 5th Jul 17
THE KIA National Twinshock series hits round six of nine on Sunday, July 16, when Wye Valley Auto play host with their Trevor Hunt Trophy Trial in the Western centre.
The trial will take place at a venue that was once part of the old Wye Valley Traders Trial course, a National event that was a must-ride back in the day.
The start will be at Platch Farm, Ewyas Harold, Herefordshire, HR2 0EE and flagged from the A465 Hereford to Abergavenny road.
The trial promises long, steep sided rocky gullies with a great ride round through woodlands, containing a great assortment of rocks, banks and roots. We are informed that no dogs will be allowed.
All four classes - Historic Spanish, Twinshock, Britshock and Air-cooled mono on both the Expert and Clubman routes are being hotly contested with the Experts seeing Steve Bisby on his Ossa Gripper leading Chris Barnett's Yam in the Historic Spanish (inc Pre-78 Open).
Rob Faulkner on his trusty TY Yam leads Dean Devereux's Honda in A/c Mono, Britshock sees Ian Peberdy's Bantam just one mark ahead of Nigel Scott's Cub and in Twinshock it is the Honda TLR of Richard Allen and Roman Kyrnyckyj.
You can ring Dan Sanders if you require any info on the Wye Valley round or just log on to the series website for Regs and entry forms.
The series then takes a summer holiday before returning on Sunday, September 17 so if you want some points in the bag as well as a cracking trial, best get entered.
