THE ACU Acklams Beta Ladies and Girls Trials Championship series heads to the north east to Hope Farm, Long Framlington, Northumberland, for the double header sixth and seventh rounds this weekend where the host centre has spared no effort at the splendid venue, writes Barry Robinson.

Acres of parc ferme, running water, toilets, catering, plus the village pub half a mile away, and Fred Nicholson has been plotting the course and come up with three laps of twelve sections.

Saturday will be a slightly shorter two mile lap while Sunday's lap is half a mile longer. Said Fred   "We have gone another half mile just to let the competitors take in the fine views while riding the sections!”

In terms of who does what, both Emma Bristow and Becky Cook missed the last round at Bexleyheath to ride the Reeth Three Day so Doncaster chef Donna Fox is now in the adult driving seat.

Competitors drop one score so Emma and Becky have now dropped theirs while Jess Bown is up to third in the standings.

Didcot's Alicia Robinson has been the revelation this year but Megan Savage and Gabby Whitham have each won a round. Savage missed Yeadon-Guiseley so the Barnsley girl is up for good points.

Alice Minta is on a mission and will aim for victory number six this weekend but has Manx girl Ella Doherty and Hannah Moore on her case. Station Garage are behind the Manx invasion and Kaytlyn Adshead holds the ace card in Class C on 90 points, 17 up on Sophie Bailey and 21 on Daisy Parson. The latter and North East starlet Amelia Mayhew have dropped a score.

The Ladies Inter class features Beth Dunning and Caz Alford who between them have won five events. Expect fireworks in that class. Ladies Newcomer features only Jo Pope.  Start time each day is 10.30am.
