Trials Torque: Mick enjoys another Highland fling

ONE of the greatest trials riders ever Mick Andrews the original Monarch of the Glen with five Scottish Six Days titles to his name was back in Scotland recently as Guest of Honour at the Inverness clubs Highland Two Day Trial.
Mick, who will turn 72 next month, has kept himself fighting fit and can still ride a bike and he tackled both days of the event at the Alvie Estate near Aviemore.
Mick was loaned one of the excellent Chase Yamaha 220 twin-shockers for his ride out in the trial, which was designated the Yamscot Edition in tribute to Shirlaws of Aberdeen, who promoted Yamaha TY twin-shocks in the 1970s and 80s.
Mick loved the lightweight Chase Yam, which is based on the humble TY175, customised with a factory replica tank and stated that the 220 is: "The bike Yamaha should have made.”
