TRS One enters production
By Team TMX on 3rd Feb 16
THE eagerly-awaited all-new TRS One trials machine has now entered production at the companys Sant Fruitos del Bages (Barcelona) factory.
British importer Steve Saunders is expecting the first two machines, destined for his supported riders Ross Danby and Becky Cook, to arrive this Friday (February 5).
Steve expects his two riders to make their debuts on the machines in the Zona 1 club's event this Sunday.
The Jordi Tarres inspired TRS of course made a sensational debut in the opening round of the FIM 2016 X-Trial World Championship opener at the Sheffield Arena in January when factory rider Adam Raga took a fantastic win, defeating Toni Bou to become the only rider to lead the X-Trial series, apart from Bou, since 2006.
The TRS One, which has been in development for two years, will be available in 250, 280 and 300cc engine capacities and Steve is expecting that he will have machines for sale by the end of February.
The TRS is a relatively conventional machine with a light but strong aluminium perimeter frame and simple two-stroke engine with a five speed transmission, mechanical water pump and carburetion (26mm Dellorto) not efi.
The frame is visibly similar to Jotagas (which Tarres was also initially involved with) but features a conventional linkage rear suspension, utilising an R16V shock) to compliment the Tech forks up front. Weight is a claimed 65kg which is right in the ball park.
As Jordi Tarres said, "This is a very exciting time for all at TRS, we have taken two years to ensure that everything is correct and now we are ready to go.”
Look out for an early test in TMX of the much anticipated TRS One!
