Turner triumphs in Camerino

Sherco’s Harry Turner realised a lifelong ambition with a breakthrough victory in the FIM TrialGP World Championship, topping the Trial2 class on day two in Camerino.
The 20-year-old from Derbyshire delivered a faultless performance at the TrialGP of Italy, taking both race wins to secure his first overall victory - and first podium - at this level, while closing in on the championship lead.
While Toni Bou and Berta Abellan dominated the premier TrialGP and TrialGP Women classes, the Trial2 category served up a much tighter fight. Electric Motion’s Benoit Bincaz took the day one win with a 1-5 scorecard, edging out series leader Alex Canales (2-4) and Britain’s George Hemingway (7-1). Turner narrowly missed the podium with consistent 5-2 finishes.
He made no such mistake on Sunday.
In control throughout, Turner stamped his authority on the class with a dominant double win, with Hemingway and Bincaz joining him on the podium as Canales endured a costly off-day.
“It felt amazing,” said Turner. “It’s not only my first-ever win in Trial2 - it’s my first-ever podium, so I’m very, very happy.”
