2021 X-Trial calendar update - new dates for the schedule

X-Trial

The 2021 X-Trial calendar has been given a schedule update as the world of off-road sport continues to be disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Scheduling for the 2021 X-Trial season has undergone a significant switch with two events cancelled and almost every round suffering a date change. But with Europe in the grips of various lockdown measures and its vaccine rollout running behind schedule, many feared that the series would be unceremoniously canned.

Austria and Nice, France are no longer on the calendar. The FIM says the "lack of availability of alternative dates" for the two arenas is the cause.

The 2021 X-Trial championship will now start on May 1 with Mouilleron-le-Captif in France and the now six-round series wraps up in Portugal on November 27 at the Altice Forum Braga with the X-Trial Braga.

You can see the updated 2021 X-Trial calendar below, which we will update if there are further changes.

It was also announced that the unconfirmed 2021 FIM X-Trial des Nations will not take place.

Although the cancellation of some events and the axing of the X-Trial des Nations is not great news, surely the proactive FIM deserves credit for keeping the series alive for 2021.

All X-Trial dates, events, eventual attendance of spectators and accompanying persons, will be subject to the approval of the corresponding Governments and authorities.
