Brighton & District host final South Coast group trial
By TMX Archives on 30th Dec 14
The final round of the South Coast group trial championship was held at a cold Faygate tip, near Horsham, and hosted by Brighton and District MCC.
Section one was on the bank near the car park where Lloyd Pettett and Phil Smith started their day with a clean.
The second section was a number of log crossings which got more slippery after the first lap.
Philip Martin had an unwanted five, while Jamie Puttock got a bit twisted on the approach but managed to escape with two marks.
Section three went across a stream at the bottom of the wood, up the bank the other side and back across.
Thomas Moss lost a dab on his second lap in the Experts, while Stuart Read also had a good ride for one mark.
Nearby section four was across a stream up a bank between trees and back out again and Chris Neville and Derek Strudwick tried a new line across the stream here but both ended up with a five.
Frank Puttock had a much better line and flew up the bank without any problems for a superb clean.
