MANSFIELD Maun have run Ladies and Girls Trials Training Days for years, and this year they applied for a June date to stage a Ladies Championship round at Bracken Rocks but were unsuccessful. Ironic then that more females entered the training event last Saturday than rode in the 2009 championship!

Yes, 27 ladies assembled at Bracken Rocks on a cool but sunny morning. Terry and Karen Crabtree assessed and sorted the girls into five groups. Karen moved to the bottom meadow with the youngest girls.

Dan Thorpe took the Experts, including Becky Cook, Katy Sunter, Joanne Coles, Hannah Styles and Emma Bristow for the first two hour session.

Meanwhile Richard Timperley and Paul Coles joined forces to take on 11 pupils in the Middle group including; Danielle Whitham, Niki Wraight, East Yorks Centre trio Nikita Smith, Kate Hunter, Simone Wallis, Ladies Inter Champion Emma Morphett, Chloe and Hannah Richardson, Jade Boam and Charlotte Kimber.

Finally Mick Boam's group included Gabby Whitham, Beth Waite, Niamh Richardson, Phoebe Hallam, Natalie Harris, Laura Milton and Jess Brown.

The Club would like to thank everyone involved including pupils, tutors, and Maxine for a very pleasant social fruitful day.
