Mansfield Maun beckons on Sunday at Bracken Rocks where the East Midland Centre club stage the fourth round of the ACU Challenge Lusky Class C and D Youth Trials Championship. The Holloway venue will feature three laps and 12 sections laid out by Terry Crabtree and his Mansfield colleagues John Bolsover and Richard Palfreyman. The Class C boys, 12 in all, bring together Dan and Jack Peace with South Shropshire boys Thomas Minta and Sam Yeomans who are on target to catch Dan. Michael Todd , Tom Hooper and Tony Martyn will be in the front line as well.
Class D Medium-wheels is a two horse race at the moment with Scarborough's Zac Collinson and Bradford hope Joe Faunthorpe leading the way. Meanwhile Ben Heycock and Charlie Smith could pose a threat.
In Small-wheels the name to watch is Billy Green who is on a maximum roll, as is Sam Minta. ‘Electric' Olly Smith could be strong with his Oset in and on Bracken Rocks where throttle control is a key factor.
Start time is 11am and there will be the regular catering unit to feed the runners and followers. No camping at Bracken Rocks though but the toilets are a permanent fixture.
