ROUND two of the 2007 MOTUL GBHS series took place last weekend at Oror Estate, Corwen, Denbighshire and while GBHS is short for Great Britain Hare Scrambles, Sunday's event should have been called the Great Big Hail Storm' instead.

Saturday's Junior race was splendid, as was thetwo-hour Inter level GBHS on the Sunday morning, with both these eventsrun under lovely sunshine and blue skies.

Just like at the first round back in May, bang onthe start of the main three-hour event, the heavens opened and downcame the wet stuff. Not only rain but a powerful blast of hailstones!

With the track having dried out fantasticallyafter the Sunday morning race, the heavy 30-minute downpour simplydrowned the venue and a reluctant clerk of the course had to make thedecision to shorten the race and no-one complained!

Paul 'Fast Eddy' Edmondson has now won both of theMOTUL GBHS' and is clear favourite to become the new champion come thethird and final round in September. Edmondson was never really introuble and the wetter the track became the better he seemed to go.

LPE Team Green rider Ryan Voase put in a superbride challenging Ed, even taking a third lap lead. However, once theflying Midlander Edmondson had seen the countdown timer cut short hesimply blasted away to pull a 1 minute and 14 second advantage tosecure the 500 winner's bounty.

Voase was a quality second and Andrew Edwards (KTM250F) took the final podium place. The top three riders all completed10 laps.

Rowland Morris (WOR GG) finished in fourth place, just six seconds ahead of KBR's GG mounted Lincoln Brewster.
