Against the odds – 'Carry On Racing!'

AFTER what seems like an eternity since round one in April the last thing the BSMA needed for the long-awaited second round of the Race Spec sponsored 'Best of British' series was another dark cloud of uncertainty hanging over this event. Unfortunately in another weekend of horrendous weather that's exactly what they got - in bucket loads.
Sadly for the hosting Cornwall SSC a lot of the really hard work it put in to get the track into superb racing counted for little as the elements never really let up with an all day lashing of the Landrake circuit.
By the end of day one just five championship races had been completed before everyone had to yield to the conditions in the hope that Sunday would be a better day. It was a hard call and a tricky decision to make, but when it came, "carry on racing" was the shout and all credit to the organizers for that one as it turned out to be the right call.
At the end of the weekend just two blocks of racing had been completed but the championship was back on track.
