On Sunday, September 26, national motocross will be heading to the Blaxhall circuit in Suffolk, just off the A12 road, near Wickham Market, as Woodbridge and DMCC play host to the penultimate round of the British MX323' Championship and the final round of the British Ladies Motocross series.

Following cancelation of the initially scheduled opening round this wiill be round three, the penultimat round of both the British MX3 class and the British Under 23 championship.

Heading into the event at Blaxhall Ray Rawson currently leads the MX3 championship and in the Under 23 class his Par Honda team-mate Scott Elderfield tops the points chase.

The racing in both classes is set to be red hot as both series leaders plan to extend their championship leads.

However, for Ray Rawson the challenge will be much harder as he is returning to fitness after an early season injury that saw him break a bone in his neck. Second place in the points table is currently held by John May who is only a slender five-points afrift, while Jamie Lewis is third a further seven-points back – so there is a lot to play for!

Over in the Under 23 category Scott Elderfield holds an even smaller lead over Alan Keet – just four-points split the top pairing while, third placed Shane Carless who will be aiming to narrow the gap on the leading pair from the current 28-point deficit.

Over recent years Ladies' motocross has been making a number of advances on both the World and National Level. With more coverage and exposure, an increasing number of Lady competitors have been brought into the sport with each year that passes.

Local interests in both classes will come from former Centre champion, Aston Bird, in the MX3 class and James Cottrell, Elliot Banks Browne and Lewis Rose in the Under 23 class.

Top British female competitor, Natalie Kane, will be in action at the final round of the British Ladies series at Blaxhall and heads into the event the round with a 23-point lead over Stacey Fisher, with Kerry Wilson just one-point further adrift.

Kane comes to the event fresh from completing the World Ladies Championship this season and coming away with sixth overall in that series.

The battle for the title could go all the way to the wire as Kane struggled at the final World Championship round due to injuries sustained following a crash.

Blaxhall will also have a number of other Ladies in action who have previous GP experience and all will be looking for solid results. These include Louise Williams from Bridgend and Alix Dunlop who is making her return to competitive racing after an injury at the beginning of the season.

On the day local interest will lay with Alice Porter from Ipswich, and the other local girls Kerry Hind, of Felixstowe, Anne Groves from Colchester and Emma Batchelor of Benfleet.

The action starts at 9.30am for practice and qualifying, with the first race leaving the start line at 11:30am.

The cost of admission for spectators is £10 for adults and £5 for unaccompanied children and senior citizens.
