Sunday September 12 sees the MC Federation's inaugural Elite Youth League Grand Slam' competition at one of the most iconic motocross circuits in the world Foxhill Moto Park.

The MC Federation have been working hard over the last year on improving their very successful Red Bull Pro Nationals, Fuchs-Silkolene 2 Stroke British and Red Bull Elite Youth Cup championships while never losing sight of the bigger picture and building solid foundations for the Federation itself to grow. Now, with more clubs becoming members of the MCF and more looking to follow suit the Grand Slam has become a reality and will only grow into a bigger, more successful event going forward.

The Grand Slam is the final for the MCF's Elite Youth League competition which has been pitching MCF clubs against each other over this year's racing season.

Selected races have counted for points during 2010 with the clubs having pre selected representatives in each class at each selected round of their own club championship.

The club that accumulate the most points over the selected races are the winners and going into the Grand Slam, and South Somerset MX Club lead the way.

The Grand Slam is the final selected points scoring race for the league, the difference being it pitches all the clubs together on the day (rather than them scoring points at their own event) with a chance to lay down bragging rights and be crowded the MCF Elite Youth League champions.

To spice things up a little more the MCF are opening up the Grand Slam to invited ‘wild card' guest riders from non MCF clubs.

Only five riders per class as opposed to the seven riders per class for MCF member clubs will be able to compete but nonetheless they'll be able to go for a trophy on the day for the best invited guest riders, while MCF club members will be gunning to be the overall individual Grand Slam champions in each class.

So, as well as riding for their club they'll also be busting a gut for that overall win on the day.

Of course, in true MCF style they'll be far more than just the racing going on. Yet, again there'll be Saturday night entertainment and the MCF will be raising money for Help for Heroes throughout the weekend. £10 from each riders entry will go towards the Help for Heroes charity and they'll also be Help for Heroes wristbands on sale throughout the day.

The clubs will also benefit from the Grand Slam event as the remaining entry funds will go back to the them as the MCF effectively host the event free of charge and the overall MCF Elite League champions will receive free insurance for their club for 2011.

So, with plenty at stake at the famous valley circuit make sure you're there to see who takes home the bacon!
