April reigns for 2012 mx
By Mannix Devlin on 4th Nov 11

The 2012 MX GP series will run from April to September after all!
The absurdity of rigging the world outdoor series to avoid a clash of dates with US SX has been dropped, although any GP youngster who wants to race a complete AMA SX Lites series can ride the East Coast series in 2012.
The opening GP is on Easter Monday at Valkenswaard, the finale at Teutschenthal on September 23, the Nations at Lommel is a week later and a British GP at Matterley Basin, on August 18/19, is the 13th of 16 GPs with every class under the sun during the week.
WMX and MX3 get three rounds each on the schedule of the main classes. Back on the schedule in early September is Lierop, and the addition of Russia brings the total number of rounds to 16.
The round ‘to be announced' in June is Spain, while the free September date was initially reserved for Ernee.
Sebastien Tortelli will be relieved to see that the date of his Mexican GP has been reversed with Brazil.
Mexico was initially down for the 13th – nothing suspicious, after all it isn't a Friday.
But apparently Mexicans get paid on the 15th of each month and immediately go out and spend most of their cash, so many are nearly stony broke by the 13th of the month.
