A TROPHY carrying the name of an off-road legend is up for grabs at a trial held in his native Cotswolds. Best Pre-65 performance will win the John Draper Trophy at the Cheltenham Home Guard MCC closed course trial on Sunday, December 3.

There will be two routes, one for modern trials bikes and the other suitable for Pre-65s, Twin-shocks and Trail bikes – although NOT Enduro machines. A Ladies award will also be made at the event, which will start at 10.30am at Langley Hill Farm, Winchcombe, Glos.

In keeping with the Classic nature of the event, 20 sections are planned, and will be attempted twice. As most off-road aficionados will know, John Draper was a superstar of the 1950s aboard scrambles and trials machines, winning the 1955 European Scrambles championship when there was no world title. He was president of CHG MCC until he died a few years ago.

Entries close on Thursday, November 30, and none will be taken on the day. For Regs please call Deborah Smith on 01242-233-315.
