The second round of the QRA ACU British Cross Country Championship, which is in its 12th season, takes place on the re-worked track at Cosford, near Rugby, on Sunday, June 6.
The venue is just a couple of miles from Junction 1 of the M6, off of the A426 towards Rugby. Major changes are being made to the course.
The event is open to support riders and the QRA is making a special introductory offer for anyone who is giving this side of the sport a try for the first time. Entries are still open for the championship classes which are 4×4/ utility, Stock, Rookie, Club, Expert and Pro.
The Pro Class is lead at the moment by reigning champion Paul Winrow, from his old sparring partner Steve Atkins. Jason Wildman who went out on lap one of the first round after a nasty crash will be back and aiming for a top position.
Sam Barrett heads the Expert class, with colourful Irishman Paul Harkness as the filling in the Barrett sandwich as Sam's dad Antony sits in third place overall.
The Club class has the youngster Scott Linley out front, but Richard Clark and Peter Gallagher are on his tail and will both be looking for a win.
The Rookie class victor at round one was Richard Taylor, whose ear to ear grin summed up his enjoyment and success in his first season, followed in the top three standings by Ian Ryles and young Laurence Stopps.
The Ladies are going well again this year with Ami Price Draper and Ameelie Miller joining Buffy Price in the hunt for Beverley Barnes' crown.
