THERE was another fantastic setting and venue for round three of WOR Events' Michelin Endur-ance Series in the majestic grounds of the old mansion and gardens of Llywn Ynn Hall, near Ruthin.
On a smaller than normal WOR course, the venue wasalmost split into two parts with a full on' grass special test-typesection at the start of the lap that led to a twisting and technicalwoodland park area that had riders concentrating on every single cornerof the five kilometre loop.
There was a very good section by the mansion'sfront garden gates which wound its way down some concrete steps andalongside a riverbank, almost resembling a mini-extreme section and itwas negotiable by all abilities.
Big powdered berms, with rocks and roots to catchthe riders out, mixed with the fast and flowing grass test area had theriders and the spectators enthralled for the four-hour duration.
Closing the entry at a sensible level to avoid over-crowding on the circuit was a wise move.
One rider who was certainly at the top of the tree was Sandiford Honda teamster Paul Bolton.
Bolton had had an earlier ding-dong with his teamboss, Martin Sandiford, as the two were inseparable for the first fiveor six laps. Martin then got trapped on some wire and spent a littletime freeing himself and to play catch up.
In the meantime KB Racing's Lincoln Brewster hadmanaged to put himself between the two Honda riders and stayed thereright to the end with another committed ride.
The top three panned out with Bolts' and Brewster on 29 laps and Martin on 28.
There were 14 classes running on the day includingtwo-man teams and the top three in each category received a trophy atthe presentation.
Richard Main was unstoppable in the Over 35 class and also took seventh overall on his Yam 250 2T.
Dave Smith once again cleaned up in Over 45 and Michael Briggs won the Sportsman Solo group.
Young Josh Taylor topped Youth solo with yet another strong ride.
The top Open Two-man team were the Roberts family with Chris and Mark flying all race to easily win their class.
Top Two-man Clubman team was Ben Howard and Andrew Knoakley.
