The 2014 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship picks up pace as the series heads to Polands Atlas Arena for round two next week (Saturday, December 14).
Laia Sanz (Honda) winning the Women's class at Liverpool's Echo Arena came as no surprise to many.
But for once the Spaniard didn't have things here own way with Britain's Emma Bristow (Sherco) pushing her all the way.
The first round was Emma's first competitive outing on an Enduro bike and she really took up the challenge with a confident display.
Hunting Laia down through the race, Bristow almost took the lead only to crash and hand advantage back to Sanz.
With the opportunity to learn from her mistakes in Poland, Bristow will be determined to have another crack at beating Sanz.
Hoping to make it onto the podium at his home race, Jonny Walker's night in Liverpool never really went to plan.
Numerous crashes, mistakes and poor starts kept the Cumbrian from showing his true potential. Walker will be hungry to turn his fortunes around at round two.
Full and up to date preview in next weeks paper.
