It’s still all go in 2013

With the weeks flying by things are really starting to heat up over here in SoCal. Temescal Canyon, just off the 15 freeway, has now been awoken again with the sound of dirt bikes at sunrise. Here, every major manufacturer has their own private test track. And luckily for us Pro Circuit boss Mitch Payton owns not one track but two!
We had the Pro Circuit track rebuilt this month. It's a good thing to get them changed to challenge the riders. And this one is a challenge all right. The jumps are huge with some very technical sections. When we get to the races it won't be as difficult as our own track and the riders can find it easy. Well that's the plan!
Dean (Wilson) has been back on his 250 and, to be honest, it looked like he never left it, taking to the quarter litre bike like a duck to water
With a suspension test day we made some more progress and Dean found some more speed to go along with it. With suspension forever evolving and riders forever going faster, that won't be my last test day either. I'm sure I'll be testing right up until Anaheim one and even the weeks after.
With the weeks counting down to the first race I am beginning to get excited. After all that's what it's all about isn't it? Racing!
We finalised our new graphics this week in the shop. That was a interesting process that can be long and drawn out. But we got there pretty quickly and Mitch and Monster were happy with the outcome.
I will be excited to hear everyone's opinions when you finally see it.
With Thanksgiving upon us I am trying to make the most of my long weekend off, because on Monday morning it is the team photo shoot and then things start getting serious at the Pro Circuitshop. I pretty much have all of my race bike parts now so I will start modifying and assembling parts over the next week or so.
Off topic, but a couple of weeks ago I visited the Science Centre in downtown Los Angeles to look at the space shuttle Endeavour. It was super cool to look at such a thing up close and find out all about it. With the engine kicking out a mighty 12 million horse power that was quite a surprise for me. And the shuttle has not one engine but three of them.
It's funny to find out that our own Pro Circuit Kawasaki has some special parts on it (Which parts are they Olly - Ed!) that were on the space shuttle as well. My boss Zach was excited to hear that, when I showed him the pics I took on my return to work. Okay, we are a little off 12 million horse power but we are hard at work trying to always improve.
Anyway, I'm just enjoying what will be my last day off until Christmas. By the time I write my next column it will almost be AMA SX race time. Have a good month and a Happy Christmas.
